Cognac
Cognac's
name is known in the whole world thanks to the famous elixir, a speciality
of the region, but it is also the native town of the king François
1st. The city notably proposes two museums dedicated to this “liquor
of the gods ”. The Art and History Museum gathers collections linked
to cognac trade or industry. And the arts museum of the cognac put forward
the adventure and technical innovations in relation with this alcohol.

Go to the Espace découverte en pays du Cognac too (Space
of discovery in Cognac country), to discover the country of Cognac through
pictures taken from the sky and along the river. This interpretation centre
presents patrimonial and natural riches of the region of Cognac in the oldest
House of Cognac of the city.

Do not miss either the famous trade houses of the town: Rémy Martin,
Henessy, Otard and Martell.
On the river Charente, you could bask in the sun on a cruise onboard the
gabarre of Cognac “La Dame Jeanne”.
