In the
Haut-Richelieu, industry is concentrated in 500 enterprises
and the sectors are : In the Vallée-du-Richelieu, it is mainly mines exploitations : there is even mines at the foot of Saint-Hilaire mountain, which is a UNESCO biosphere reserve. In the Bas-Richelieu, the main part of enterprises are in the agroalimentary sector, but also in wood for construction and in publishing. 15 % of these enterprises
are settled in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu city, industrial
pole of the catchment area. The second pole is Saint-Hubert and the
third one is Chambly. |
